The Status of the DACA Program

Many people who are part of the GOP (Republican Party) are not at all happy about the concept of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. That’s the reason they have organized numerous approaches that aimed to do away with it in its entirety. News about these approaches spread rapidly all throughout the immigrant world as well. The DACA program gave young people who lacked documentation access to numerous benefits. These benefits included a social security number, the ability to attain employment in the United States and even deportation protection. DACA enabled immigrants to get driver’s licenses in the majority of states, too.


Ken Paxton is the Texas Attorney General. He revealed a letter that was sent to President Donald Trump and to his administration in general. This letter requested the reversal of the program. It requested speedy reversal, too. It requested a reversal by the beginning of September. The contents of the letter mentioned legal courses as well.


The Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund is a widely known Arizona group that concentrates on all types of subjects that involve human and civil rights. Immigrants naturally are a big focal point for the people who represent the Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund. This is an organization that stresses many topics that mean a lot to immigrants who are located in the United States and beyond. It delves into diverse subject matter such as border patrol, racial profiling, immigration reform, youth, immigration detention, refugees and more.


The two individuals who are at the helm of this group also happen to be its namesakes. They’re Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. These writers have been hard at work on the organization for a while now. They offer in-depth assistance and guidance to all types of organizations that are nearby. These many hard-working groups include the Arizona DREAM Act Coalition, Can the Border Divide Us?, the Center for Neighborhood Leadership, Si Se Puede Foundation, the American Immigration Council and the Colibri Center for Human Rights. There are many other local groups that receive the assistance of the tireless Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund team members as well.


DACA was a program that had certain qualifications. People who wanted to receive the assistance of this program had to fit various forms of criteria. They needed to have arrived in the United States prior to reaching 16 years in age, first and foremost. They needed to have resided in the nation nonstop since the middle of June in 2007. They needed to be less than 31 years in age in the middle of June in 2012. People who wanted to be fit for DACA program assistance had to have finished their high school educations as well. GED (General Educational Development) status was also totally acceptable. People who applied for the DACA program needed to be able to confirm all of their qualifications. They, because of that, needed to present the program with three distinctive forms. They needed to present them with a handful of other documents, too.
