Every parent should vaccinate their children says Dr. Saad Saad

While the majority of parents vaccinate their infants, there is still a small number of misinformed parents who shy away from vaccinating their children. As Dr. Saad Saad says no child should go unvaccinated as vaccination is one of the most effective prevention of dangerous diseases such as Hib meningitis, rotavirus, whooping cough, and measles.

As a renowned and respected pediatrician, Dr. Saad Saad speaks from a point of knowledge and experience which is in line with the views of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Immunization Schedule. Saad says that a child who has not been vaccinated is not only exposed to many infectious diseases but is also at risk of spreading the disease to other immunized children and adults. Support from the other relevant authority

Dr. Saad’s stand is rooted in scientific evidence that is also shared by professional institutions such as the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). According to the president of AAP, Sandra G.Hassink, it is seriously wrong and dangerous for health practitioners to suggest to parents that their kids will be okay without being vaccinated.

Dr. Hassink says that immunization is the only way that will ensure an infant is protected from these malignant ailments, and it would be ridiculous for any parent or doctor to delay the vaccines. AAFP shares the same position as Dr.Saad and AAP. In its own capacity, AAFP provides a rich source of information regarding immunization schedules and types of vaccinations for different diseases.

Historical evidence

Dr.Saad believes there should be no confusion regarding vaccination, citing historical evidence of instances when vaccines successfully eliminated catastrophic diseases. One such disease is smallpox, which took the lives of millions of people in the 1800s before the smallpox vaccine was invented in the 19th century and finally eradicated in the 20th century. The New Jersey pediatric surgeon, further points to polio and mumps which were contained by vaccines and are at the verge of extinction. Without the vaccines, polio, chicken pox, measles, mumps, HPV, and whooping cough would still claim millions of lives on a daily basis.

Dr. Saad Saad, is quick to debunk the myths surrounding vaccination saying that these myths are not supported by any scientific evidence and research. Top among these is the notion that vaccines cause autism and weaken an infant’s immune system. Dr. Saad says that there is no medical evidence linking vaccines to autism and also adds that an infant’s immune system is strong enough to handle vaccinations.
